Press Release
FaceTime Communications Tapped by RSA to Provide Expertise on Securing Instant Messaging in the Enterprise
Instant Messaging Leader to Address Growing Network and Information Security
Concerns in the Enterprise at RSA Security Event
FOSTER CITY, Calif., April 9, 2003 -- Recognizing its established leadership as the
premier provider of security and management solutions for instant messaging
(IM) in the enterprise, FaceTime Communications today announced it has been
selected by RSA as the only instant messaging solution provider to present at
its RSA Conference 2003. Now in its 12th year, the RSA Conference is the
largest security conference in the world. More than 10,000 IT professionals,
policy makers and executives will attend the conference being held April 13-17,
2003 at the Moscone Center and Sony Metreon Theater in San Francisco,
California.
Instant messaging has gained broad acceptance in the enterprise as a powerful
productivity, collaboration and customer service tool, but as corporate IM
usage increases, so do network and information security concerns. Recognizing
the timeliness and critical nature of these issues as well as the significant
gains FaceTime has already made in resolving these issues for its Fortune 1000
customer base, the RSA Conference has selected the company to provide expertise
to its delegates who are planning their strategies for secure instant
messaging. FaceTime Founder and CTO, Mehdi Maghsoodnia will present the
session, "Securing Instant Messaging in the Enterprise," on Tuesday, April 15
at 8:00 a.m. in Sony Metreon Theater 9.
Typically, widely available and downloadable IM software has been difficult for
IT departments to manage-with proper authentication, access control and
anti-virus protection among the chief concerns. Many fear IM can be used to
dupe their businesses with hidden virus attachments or fraudulent identities.
While some organizations have opted to standardize or block employee access to
IM altogether, FaceTime has long helped organizations competing in fast-paced
environments embrace the full, global reach of instant messaging with its
centralized IM security and management solutions. FaceTime's
IMAuditor
Enterprise enables businesses to apply the power of instant messaging to
critical business processes while managing the network and information security
risks associated with its use. A strategic partnership with McAfee provides
additional virus protection.
"FaceTime is honored to be the instant messaging experts to speak at this
year's RSA Conference," said FaceTime President & CEO Glen Vondrick.
"FaceTime's market success with over 250 enterprise customers in various
industries demonstrates our expertise in providing solutions that help
customers address the security risks posed by IM. FaceTime makes it possible
for all businesses to fully embrace and safely leverage the real-time, global
reach of instant messaging."
