FaceTime Communications Continues Expansion With Key Executive, Advisory Board
And Board of Directors Appointments
Accomplished Industry Executive Christopher S. Dean and Acclaimed High-Tech
Luminary Geoffrey Moore Named to Key Positions; Founder Mehdi Maghsoodnia
Appointed to Leading Enterprise Instant Messaging Solutions Provider's Board of
Directors
FOSTER CITY, Calif., April 1, 2003 -- Furthering its established leadership as the
premier provider of security and management solutions for instant messaging in
the enterprise, FaceTime Communications today announced the appointment of
technology industry executive Christopher S. Dean to senior vice president of
Marketing and Business Development. The company also appointed influential
author and leading technology industry consultant Geoffrey Moore to its
advisory board.

With nearly two decades of technology and finance experience, Christopher S.
Dean will focus on driving FaceTime's marketing and business development
strategies. He will be directly responsible for expanding FaceTime's enterprise
market strategy and building upon the company's leadership in the enterprise
instant messaging marketplace. Dean will be specifically chartered with
developing the company's product and partner roadmaps, including the creation
of new global channel distribution programs and expansion of FaceTime's
offerings in new markets.
Mr. Dean has held senior marketing and business development roles in multiple
technology and finance start-up companies throughout his career. Prior to his
new post, he headed Dean Consulting, where his corporate strategy, channel
development and pricing engagement for PlaceWare, Inc., a leading real-time Web
conferencing provider, resulted in Microsoft's acquisition of the company
earlier this year. Mr. Dean's marketing and strategic alliance programs have
helped secured more than $166 million in funding for such companies as Epoch
Partners, SmartAge.com and Worlds, Inc. At business-to-business portal provider
SmartAge.com (later B2SB Technologies), he negotiated over 40 strategic
relationships, including those with AOL, AT&T and Bank of America.
While a senior consultant at Regis McKenna, Inc. (now the McKenna Group) and
later at Dean Consulting, he lent marketing, sales and product strategy
expertise to such Global 2000 organizations as Apple, IBM, Oracle and Adobe
Systems. Dean holds an M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of
Management and a B.A. in Economics from Vassar College.

Geoffrey Moore is the founder and chairman of The Chasm Group (TCG), a firm
providing marketing strategy and organizational services to such industry
leaders as Apple, AT&T, Hewlett Packard, Oracle and Sun Microsystems. He is
also a venture partner with Mohr, Davidow Ventures. Author of best sellers
Crossing The Chasm and Inside the Tornado, and most recently Living on the
Fault Line, Mr. Moore previously served as principal and partner at Regis
McKenna, Inc. and in key executive roles at Rand Information Systems, Enhansys
and Mitem.
The FaceTime advisory board consists of a myriad of industry leaders, each
contributing specialized experience, leadership and strategic relationships to
guide FaceTime through its next growth phase. Moore joins other FaceTime
advisory board members Henry Carter, former chief compliance officer at
E*Trade; Lewis Knopf, former managing director of Collaboration Services at
Reuters; Paul Matteucci, former chairman of leading VOIP supplier HearMe; and
Raul Mujica, former general manager and vice president at AOL Instant Messaging
Business Unit at AOL Time Warner.
FaceTime also appointed FaceTime Founder Mehdi Maghsoodnia to the company's
Board of Directors. Mehdi leads the company's technology vision, product
planning, product development, and network operations. Over the past five
years, Mehdi has overseen the design and development of FaceTime's IM Director
real-time communication platform, released in 1999 as the first
enterprise-class infrastructure for managing any instant messaging network, or
email system, and other real-time communication channels. The IM Director
platform has been used to develop the company's suite of enterprise IM
solutions used by enterprise customers worldwide, including the award-winning
IMAuditor Enterprise. As a member of the Board, Mr. Maghsoodnia will
contribute his visionary thought leadership and instant messaging expertise to
