FaceTime and IBM Lotus Execute on Second Phase of Partnership Agreement

FOSTER CITY, Calif., October 1, 2002 -- FaceTime Communications, the premier provider of network-independent instant messaging (IM) applications for business, today announced that the company has integrated its award-winning IMAuditor application with IBM's new Lotus Sametime 3 real-time collaboration software. This integrated IM solution enables enterprise customers who use Lotus Sametime to leverage the strength of IMAuditor to centrally manage, capture, store and supervise internal and external IM communications on the Sametime network. The result is improved information security management and regulatory compliance for firms regulated by government agencies. Lotus Sametime is in use at 60 Global Fortune 100 companies and has more than seven million worldwide corporate users, and FaceTime's IMAuditor is installed in more than 30 leading enterprises. With the integration of FaceTime's IMAuditor, those customers can securely communicate while ensuring corporate compliance, auditing and administrative controls are in place.

"The rise in popularity of Lotus Sametime reflects recognition by corporations of instant messaging as a valuable business and application platform for real-time collaboration," said Michael Loria, Director of Advanced Collaboration, IBM Lotus Software. "The integration of IMAuditor and the release of Lotus Sametime 3, both standards in enterprise IM use, enable us to provide our customers best-of-breed regulatory compliance and auditing on top of the Lotus Sametime platform."

"FaceTime currently has several customers utilizing our integration with Lotus Sametime, and we are pleased to be able to offer them a seamless upgrade to Sametime 3," said Glen D. Vondrick, FaceTime's President and CEO. "Lotus Sametime is a tremendously successful IM communications tool in the enterprise, and our 100 plus customers using our family of IM applications, from regulatory compliance to customer service, can now incorporate Sametime into their business workflow."

The Gateway for Lotus Sametime is available from FaceTime as an add-on option to FaceTime's standard IM applications and is available immediately.

FaceTime's unique technology advantage, IM expertise and ability to provide customers with authorized application access and integration to any network, enables the company to deliver practical, value-add solutions on multiple IM network infrastructures for any business.

The FaceTime IMAuditor enables IT departments to install a back-end software server behind their Internet firewall in order to manage and monitor instant messaging communication across all IM networks.
