Description
This position requires a person with experience in unified communications solutions. The employee will
work hands-on with leading UC platforms including Microsoft Office Communications Server, IBM Lotus
Sametime, and Cisco Unified Presence Server.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Install and configure UC solutions for internal customers
- Understand all UC platform architectural options, product components, and capabilities
- Conduct regular internal knowledge transfer sessions with key technical resources
- Proactively stay up to date with the latest UC technologies
- Create technical briefs detailing interesting architectural and operational aspects
- Interface regularly with engineering, QA, and product management to provide expertise
- Provide expert input to the product specification, development, and testing process
Required Skills
- At least 7 years total experience in handling enterprise deployments of software/applications/appliances.
- 5 years of experience with computer software, including the installation and configuration of Windows
programs
- Experience working with either OCS or Sametime. 2+ years on these is a strong plus.
- Solid expertise in Windows Servers technology such as networking, troubleshooting, installation and
configuration of software
- Excellent technical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to analyze API and SDK specifications to understand capabilities and determine relevant integration
points
- Good technical knowledge of Active Directory and SQL databases
- Ability to communicate effectively on all levels
Additional Skills Desired
- Implementation-level experience with any of the following: Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint,
Cisco Call Manager
- Experience with writing Java, .NET or C++ applications
