Credit and Collections Analyst

Job Description:

The Credit and Collections Analyst is the owner of accounts receivable operations reporting to the Corporate Controller. The individual will be responsible for world wide credit and collections as well as maintenance of a cross functional customer master listing.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage billing and cash application operation, acting as an escalation point who has the fundamental system knowledge and strong commitment to ensure accurate AR balance on a daily basis
  • Establish credit amounts for customers by contacting trade references, reviewing financial statements, and researching automated credit information.
  • Create a customer master file that will synch with accounting system and provide service entitlement information to support team.
  • Responsible for AR and revenue related balance sheet accounts (mainly reserve accounts) details/reconciliation on monthly basis, ensuring accurate revenue recognition
  • Complete the sub-ledger and general ledger reconciliation on monthly basis
  • Responsible for forecasting weekly A/R balances for cash management activities.
  • Work with Finance and Sales team to consistently escalate collection issues, including communication of accounts to be placed on credit hold.
  • Report potential issues and provide appropriate updates to the manager in a timely manner
  • Ad-hoc reports/projects

Required/Desired Skills:

  • 3+ years in A/R and reconciliation experience preferred
  • BA Degree in accounting or equivalent experience/knowledge preferred
  • Excellent Excel skills & strong aptitude with accounting systems
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong motivation to provide the highest level of service with sound accounting knowledge for business partners
  • Attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple tasks through to completion
  • Ability to develop good relationships with internal partners and influence their behaviors as required.
